On April 5th we welcomed Gray Alexander into our lives, and things got a whole lot crazier!! 🙂
The emotions that hit me in the days to follow were very un expected. I was trying my best but couldn’t fight back the anxiety I felt. I was in pretty rough shape emotionally and was struggling to keep it together. I was shaming myself. That’s right shaming MYSELF! Why? Well it turns out I wasn’t that great at breastfeeding, and I sooo badly wanted to be GREAT at it! I struggled through pain, no sleep, soreness, anxiety attacks and tears. My poor little baby was doing his best to get what he needed, but there just wasn’t enough there.
So after a few weeks I cried through the decision to stop. And guess what, shit got sooo much better!! My emotions calmed, and I became more of myself again. Deciding to stop breast feeding was the best decision for me and my baby. I understand that breast feeding is the best way to nourish our little ones, trust me I have read ALL the articles, and I know ALL the benefits, I really wanted to be good at it, but I wasn’t expecting it to be sooo HARD, for me!
So with the support of Mr.Cheesy we switched to formula, our little guy is doing great, gaining weight in his gorgeous little thighs and cheeks:) and I am not a complete cry face mess!
At two months he is a smiley, loves listening to music and being held…a lot…maybe too much…but I don’t care, he will only be this little once:) So I will squish him and snuggle him as much as I want! He is the most amazing thing I have seen, and I will make sure to share with ALL of you his little face as he grows up to be a curious little man!!
Life is good with these two crazy dudes:)
Joy is having a BABY GIRL!!
I love doing maternity portraits, there is just something special about being pregnant, and I get to capture it:) Which is pretty awesome!
This session was a little last minute, Joy was my hairstylist and makeup artist for another shoot I was doing! (fabulously talented, and located at Visions Salon and Spa in Saskatoon) She didn’t have a maternity photographer yet so we got together and did this session right down by the river. I love shooting by the river in Saskatoon, you can get super close without fearing of falling in haha!
Joy is super stylish and pretty much crazy photogenic! So naturally so is her baby bump:) I had a great time working with Joy and plan on doing more whenever I get back to Saskatoon!
Congrats on your beautiful baby girl! I am sure she will bring you so much Joy:)
Jesse is a friend of mine who happens to be a very inspiring Entrepreneur! I was so happy to do her head shots for her!
Jesse is Founder and CEO of L-Lash Bar, a successful eyelash extension company in Edmonton. Her store is amazingly beautiful and her product is premier. If you are looking for high quality lashes here in Edmonton, you have more than likely been directed to her shop.
Stay tuned for some big things coming from this lady in the future!! 🙂
These two are basically just adorable together!!
This session was done on a COLD fall day but we powered through and had some fun:) Shot in Victoria Park, we found some great little spots to get these two snuggling:)
If Mannie wasn’t kissing Ella, he was smiling and giggling. So basically if there lips weren’t locked these two are goofing with each other!
This was a fun shoot, full of laughter and hugs, because let’s face it, it was COLD!
I love couples portrait sessions!
We were very lucky and got beautiful weather for our shoot. On the grounds of the Royal Alberta Museum we found tons of great little spots to shoot, and went perfect for an outdoor fall session!
I love making couples kiss, and these two did not have a problem with that:) The session was super romantic and a little goofy, but I just love how much these two like to cuddle. I just Love Love:) and I am so grateful to be able to capture that for my awesome clients!
Fall is one of my favourite seasons to shoot outside! The light is amazing and so very flattering! This Glamour session was shot around 104 street and Jasper Ave, in Downtown Edmonton.
Glamour sessions outside can be a challenge, but we found some really great spots. A couple really cool doorways that complemented Linley and her Bright Red Hair!! The wind was pretty gusty but I think it added some nice drama to the photos, especially when it framed her face so perfectly!
There are some really great brick buildings Downtown, giving us some different textures, and a bit of a different feel. We wanted to do a shoot with a bit of edge to them, and be super sexy! You don’t have to be in your underwear to get sexy photos! Glamour is a great option for ladies who don’t want a Boudoir Session. A sexy outfit that makes you feel amazing is all you need. Linley rocked this shoot and I have so much fun, a great way to spend a sunday:)
Kelly Gray is a Mortgage Broker in Edmonton, AB and a good friend of mine! Corporate head shots don’t have to be so standard, why not be a little Glamorous:) Makeup by Jack’d Up Beauty Boutique
I love maternity sessions:) And I love photographing outside, this sure was a cool location!
Laura is a mother of three year old twins and another baby on the way! We wanted a location that was outside, natural and beautiful! This area in Sherwood Park was perfect, and just down the street from Laura’s house. It was hot this day so we shot early in the morning, which also gave us such pretty light!
There is just something about a pregnant lady that puts a smile on my face. I am so excited for Laura to be adding to her beautiful family! Congratulations on baby number three:)
I often hear women say that they wish they would have gotten maternity pictures, but they just didn’t feel beautiful. Laura is a perfect example of a radiant mom to be, and her belly is…..well…. it’s awesome! She may have been uncomfortable with her baby mashing against her insides, but you can’t tell from these pictures:)
